PlanIT Group has been awarded a contract with Norwegian Cruise Line, to provide IT installation. This includes fiber, CAT6 and CAT7, as well as rack mounted equipment, printers and other hardware aboard numerous ships.
“PLANIT has a unique tier1, 2 and 3 global IT servicing capability, in which we have a surge capacity and ability to pull from resources dispatched across 15 countries,” stated David Hoshko, COO for PlanIT Group. “This has been a game changer when supporting the cruise line industry, since we have a managed service approach in gaining access to a wide variety of skill sets on a 24 to 48 hour notice, in supporting ship board IT services,” Hoshko continued.
PlanIT Group was part of the restoration dry dock team for the Norwegian Jewel. PlanIT was responsible for IT system upgrades, with a focus on computer refresh. The two-week project was part of a complete overhaul of all ship systems and was conducted in Singapore along with 2000+ other contractors on a 24×7 schedule. In total, over 150+ computer systems were replaced, along with more than 50 printers and peripherals.
