PlanIT Group is seeking a Technical Lead/ Software SME/Lead Developer to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies. Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns as well as understanding of various coding methods and computer languages. Data modeling and database design experience. Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Job Title: Technical Lead/ Software SME/Lead Developer
Description: Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies. Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns as well as understanding of various coding methods and computer languages. Data modeling and database design experience. Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and service oriented architecture (SOA).
Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Responsible for project completion. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Ideally requires a bachelor's degree or demonstrated architectural experience in the area of specialization. Experience communicating with key executives in a concise yet analytical manner.
Evaluate existing software solutions to identify areas for improvement. Oversee architectural approaches from conception to installation.
List of tasks to be performed:
Technical Lead/Architect or developer (s) experienced in ServiceNow software development with the following skills.
SME in one or more of the following areas:
• ServiceNow Application Development
• ServiceNow Platform and Architecture Knowledge
Proficient in the following qualifications:
• Experience with ServiceNow development with knowledge of code best practices
• Knowledge/experience with functional and technical knowledge of ServiceNow platform and architecture
• Effective liaison leading technical development teams
• Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
• Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups
• Oral and written communication skills including presenting to management
• Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
• Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
• Problem/Risk Management
• MS Office Suite
Education Requirements:
• A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years' relevant experience
• A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
Additional Provisions:
• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
• All candidates must be a US Citizen or have a US Permanent Residence status (Green Card).
• Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded.
