Application Migration Integration Engineer

The focus of this position is to implement Application Migrations to Azure or vendor hosted solutions. The source location can vary from on-premises, Azure, AWS, etc.


We a dynamic and growing company. We are acquiring firms throughout the US, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. We are looking for someone with Application Migration and Systems Engineering experience to help integrate newly acquired offices. This Engineer will work with vendors, developers, and internal teams to migrate applications to our Azure or a vendor hosted solution. This Engineer will travel to various offices and demonstrate troubleshooting competency, deliver mission critical infrastructure, and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. The ability to interact with customers in a professional manner is essential.

Travel required: 30% (The ability to travel to throughout the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK is a must.)

Location: This is a work from home position. Since this is a traveling position, we expect someone who can easily get to the airport.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive migration runbooks, collaborating with NFP teams and external partners to standardize processes and minimize risk.
• Oversee application packaging requests for thick clients, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance across environments.
• Initiate and track intake requests for environment buildouts in NFP Azure, ensuring timely completion and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to capture and validate detailed application requirements for building infrastructure within NFP's Azure environment.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external vendors and application developers to ensure smooth migration processes.
• Obtain compliance documentation such as SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR requirements, etc.
• Create robust User Acceptance Testing for Application Migrations
• Configuration knowledge of Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and other miscellaneous network hardware and related equipment and how they tie into Application Security in a Zero Trust model
• Ability to clearly document network topology using Visio
• Be able to define the work effort necessary to bring these systems onto the NFP Network.
• Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and security
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and implement those fixes
• Ability to understand how an application is supported by a vendor and determine upgrade plans for unsupported platforms
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 configuration and troubleshooting
• Migrate computers onto the corporate network and restore applications and end user data
• Ability to design AWS to Azure, Azure to Azure, on-premises to vendor cloud, and on-premises to Azure Application Migrations

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and/or Ability:

• Strong ability to organize and manage multiple tasks utilizing effective time management skills
• 10+ years' experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPOs
• Works effectively with all levels of internal technology team, end-users, management, and 3^rd party vendors
• Professional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service focus
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a professional manner
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of applications
• Experience with virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V)
• Understanding monitoring systems (PRTG, Solarwinds, Nagios)
• Ability to work with a Distributed team
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
• Microsoft Exchange and O365 migration knowledge (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) is a plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with Outlook, Excel, and Word. Microsoft Project, Visio, and PowerPoint expertise is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and the ability to migrate applications to Azure or other Cloud platforms.
• Ability to lead projects and organize a team
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, and install networking equipment up to 50 lbs.

Education:

• 4-year bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer engineering, or related field preferred.

A degree is not mandatory.

• 8+ years' experience in Systems administration or consulting role in a Microsoft, Cisco, or Fortinet based infrastructure
• 8+ years' experience executing Application Migration projects as primary technical lead

License / Certification: One or more of the following certifications preferred: A+ or equivalent, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, VMWare, Cisco CCNA, Network+, Security+, Fortinet or similar.
